Simona Vrabcová

Founder, Manager & Actress

Simona joined the former amateur theatre group in 2015 and helped to establish a professional company in 2017. Simona is the current artistic director of the company and also looks after management, where she applies her knowledge from her BA in Music Business and Arts Management at Middlesex University in London. She is now teaching as a visiting lecturer on the same course. She performed in all our author-written devised productions: Migrants‘ Rhapsody, Academy for Women, Mum, what did you want?  and Extreme [the new norm]. Her acting skills were mainly shaped during her studies at the Private Conservatoire in Nitra and at youth drama and dance companies in Slovakia. Apart from performing in theatres from the age of 4, she portrayed roles in films, TV shows and commercials for UK and International productions. Simona also plays the piano and sings. She has graduated with MSc in Innovation Management  & Entrepreneurship and continues her academic career at the University of Warwick doing PhD in Cultural Policy Studies. She actively combines her passion for culture and arts with research throughout her professional career. Her research interests are cultural management, creative entrepreneurship, cultural diplomacy and country branding.

Zuzana Strnátová

Director

Zuzana joined us in 2022 as the director of our newest play Extreme [the new norm¨. She studied directing and dramaturgy at the Department of Puppetry of the Theatre Faculty at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava, Slovakia. She is the founder of the Junk Theater (Divadlo Veteš) in Bratislava, where she embodies her theatrical visions. In addition to directing collaborations with major and independent theatres, she composes original music for theatre and performances for children. Zuzana also teaches drama classes at art schools, where she leads children and young people towards a passion for theatre and film. Her creative direction is inspired by various styles, which, however, always express a personal and honest statement, reflecting current topics. Zuzana was invited to the new project by our manager Simona whom she met at youth drama groups in Slovakia, where they created theatre plays together as teenagers. Years later it is once again the passion for collaborative creative work that reunited them.

Rebeka Jurčacková

Actress & Co-manager

Rebeka is the latest addition to our cast. She is an actress, model and historical re-enactor. Apart from acting, she enjoys creating digital content, filming and video editing. She graduated from the Performing Arts Programme at The University of Winchester in 2020 with First Class Honours. Most recently, in 2022, she successfully completed the advanced acting course at The Unseen drama school in London under the leadership of the director and screenwriter Arjun Rose. She has also completed the Breakthrough into Acting course at the National Youth Film Academy (NYFA) in London, which she is now a member of. Rebeka has experience in both acting for screen and live - open-air immersive theatre performances. One of her great passions is history, especially the era of the renaissance, she is a member of FRINGIA - Society for the restoration and reconstruction of historical martial arts and dances, and actively participates in various film productions and documentaries such as “Jako letní sníh”, recently nominated for Movie Guide Awards in Hollywood. She was also a supporting artist in multiple productions like Netflix's series Van Helsing. She is creative, unstoppable and versatile - a passionate artist, a storyteller, who pays attention to detail and is always ready to take centre stage! Rebeka joined in June 2022 and she also helps with the management and digital content creation.

Jana Zordan

Choreographer

 

Jana joined the theatre crew as a choreographer in 2015 and she is currently working as the movement director on the upcoming show. She directed and choreographed the production 'Mum, what did you want?' (2018). Previously, she designed and rehearsed choreographies for shadow parts and the Strip Song in the 'Academy of Women'. Jana also choreographed the 'Rap Song, Loneliness, The Chance and I believe I can fly' parts in the STL production 'Migrants' Rhapsody'.  She is the movement director in the latest product Extreme [the new norm]. Jana graduated from the prestigious Academy of Performing Arts in Prague with MA in Physical Theatre. She was a choreographer and a co-director of many international projects within Contemporary Circus. She taught and performed in Japan, Turkey, France and Italy among others.

Isabel Morales-Detková 

Director & Film-Maker

Isabel (she/her) is a half Spanish half Slovak director and cinematographer based in London. With a degree in Film and TV with Sociology from the University of Glasgow and a Cinematography master’s from MetFilm School, her work utilizes the power film has to inform how we understand each other by focusing on the everyday experiences of underrepresented characters. Among other shorts, she has directed “Á Cam”, which screened for the Great War Centenary at the Scottish Submarine Centre, and “On Loss”, a Half-Slovak and English family drama about to enter its festival run. She is currently working on “I Promise To Annoy You Forever”, a Half-Spanish and English queer female-centered short film about the magic of friendship. As to her cinematography career, besides a few small TV projects, Isabel has predominantly worked on narrative shorts, from thriller, through action, to a Coming of Age rom-com and a 14-minute one-shot drama. She joined us in 2024.

Katie Cecil 

Filmmaker

Katie is a filmmaker through and through. Born in Prague, she found a passion for film and television early on. Filming travel videos, she found herself filming and editing all the time, fascinated by the work of art behind the moving images. She has worked on short movies, music videos, and a globally known reality show Come Dine With Me, the Czech version. In July, she graduated from Film and Television Production at Buckinghamshire New University. Her short film Vilomah has been screened at many international festivals, winning Best Drama and Best First Time Director at the Belgrade Film Festival, Lift Off City Session UK, Rome Movie Awards, Sweet Democracy Film Festival, and qualifying finalist for Student World Impact Festival and LA Student Movie Awards. After the successful completion of her university days, she is focussed on social media, her new marketing job and writing and getting funding for her new short film, which is to be filmed in early 2024. Katie joined us is 2023.

Adam Hašák

Actor

Adam is a young Slovak actor, writer, and director born in Nové Mesto nad Váhom, Slovakia, who started his artistic journey in 2014. He was part of several theatre and film productions in Slovakia and the UK. In 2019 he wrote his short film debut 86,400s with Lubos Balazovic Jr. After that they worked together on other short films and a documentary movie. All three of those were awarded several film festival awards and also screened on Czech National TV. During his last year of academic studies, his two plays were performed at the Camden People's Theatre and Leicester Square Theatre in London. Adam is a recent Performing Arts graduate at Bucks New University. He found brotherly love, relief and truth to be the most inspiring themes for his creative endeavours. He joined STL in 2023.

Kristýna Havelková 

Actress

Kristýna is a Czech actress, originally from Liberec. She has experience in both theatre and short films within the UK as well as the Czech Republic. She is a recent MA graduate from East 15 Acting School, under the supervision of Andrea Brooks and Annie McKenzie. 2022 she finished her BA consecutively in Performing Arts (Film, TV & Stage) at Buckinghamshire New University. Back at home, she is a member of the children's 'Navětvi' theatre, where she is involved in their shows such as 'Old Bohemian Legends', ‘The Little Christmas Store-y’ and ‘The Babysitters of Betlehem’. Kristýna joined STL in 2023.

Natalia Lukácsová

Actress

Natalia is a Slovak actress, singer and vocal teacher originally from Moldava nad Bodvou. She started her artistic journey when she was just in kindergarten, where she had her first singing competition. In 2014 she began studying acting and singing at the State Conservatory in Slovakia. She became a part of the National Theatre in Košice and performed in the musical Na skle maľované and the play La Romana by Alberto Moravia. She successfully graduated from the Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica, where she was studying musical singing. During her studies, she performed in many musicals, theatre plays and concerts. While she was studying at the Academy of Arts, she was also a vocal teacher at the State Conservatory. Natalia joined us in 2023.

Tatiana Janišová

Singer & Actress 

Tatiana is a Slovak soprano opera singer from Bojnice, Slovakia. At the age of seven, Tatiana embarked on her musical journey. She joined Music School in Trenčín in 2001, where she studied classical singing, flute and piano. During her first three years as a musician, she won several major singing competitions all over the country. Tatiana studied and graduated from the Conservatoire J.M.Hurbana in Žilina and officially became an opera singer. Following that, she worked at Bojnice Castle as an actress, singer and musician from 2011 until 2014. In 2017 she decided to move to England to embark on a new journey. Tatiana currently lives in Gloucester and recently joined Cheltenham Vocal Academy and she joined us in 2023.

František Kudry

Actor 

František is a Slovak conservatory graduate from Hlohovec, Slovakia. He began acting at the age of 10 when he enrolled in primary art school. František then pursued studies in drama and musicals at the Conservatory in Bratislava. During his studies, he participated in productions such as Pomade, Hamlet, Othello, Chicago, and West Side Story. In 2018 he relocated to Prague and worked in the film and television industry. He appeared in film productions alongside notable figures like Jackie Chan, Orlando Bloom, Lukáš Vaculík a Jiřina Bohdalová. In 2021, František completed a conducting course at the State Conservatory in Prague and concurrently finished a year-long violin internship split between the Music School and the Conservatory in Bratislava. František joined us in 2023.
